Favourite Songs of Favoriten
Favourite songs can be love letters, protest anthems, or the soundtrack to a single, unforgettable day. With a simple yet multifaceted question “what’s your favourite song?”, Michikazu Matsune spoke with 100 people — passers-by, residents and guests in Vienna’s Favoriten district, one of the liveliest and most culturally diverse neighbourhood in the city. The result is an archive of personal anecdotes and a playlist with music across languages, styles and generations. With a publication in hand and music in earphones, the audience is invited to embark on a musical journey.
"Come as you are. It's a very old song but so good. We love it."

"With this song in the ear, you'd arrive faster at your destination. Listen to it, you'll know what I meaan."

"I grew up with Elvis Presley. I like Rod Stewart a lot too. He is now eighty and still sensational. I envy his energy!"

"I always walk in the rythem of music."
